The sun sinks into the Atlantic – and everyone pauses to bid it farewell.

Tenerife is the largest of the Canary Islands and home to the Teide volcano – the highest point in Spain (3,715 m). The island is famous for some of the most beautiful sunsets in the world, viewed from the cliffs above the ocean. Here, the sun sets directly into the Atlantic Ocean, creating that rare phenomenon – the "green flash" – a moment of emerald light just before the sun disappears below the horizon.
