Folk Musical Instruments – Kazanlak Museum

A display case with authentic folk musical instruments preserved in a museum in Kazanlak. The photo shows violins, a gadulka, and tamburas – instruments that were played at Thracian weddings, festivals, and rituals centuries ago.

Kazanlak is the heart of Thrace – a land with over 3000 years of history, known for its rose fields, Thracian tombs, and rich musical heritage. The gadulka is one of the oldest Bulgarian instruments – it is mentioned in documents from the 14th century.
